Alpha Rentals first entered into the rental business in Lafayette, LA in 1976. It was then know as Herman Diving Rentals with very limited equipment but with unlimited ideas and dreams.

We moved to the New Orleans area in 1978 and added J.W. Automarine Lift Bags and Wachs Cutting tools to our rental fleet and expanded the customer base. We stayed there for 5 years and moved to Morgan City to be closer to our customers and to expand our rentals. It was at this time our name changed to Herman Rentals, Inc. to meet the needs of a changing industry and to be closer to our customers in order to provide the personalized and dependable service for which we have become known.

In 1996, once again following our customer base, we re-located to the Lafayette area and soon after needing more room, to the Port of Iberia. We purchased a local business that was selling and manufacturing divers’ hot water units. We began manufacturing, renting and selling the units which are still in much demand from the diving companies as well as the U. S. Navy.

Once again we moved, this time to Abbeville, LA and remain there today. We continue to rent the equipment most needed by our customers and add items as the needs arise. We currently are renting and selling E. H. Wachs (Guillotine Saws, Power Drills, Diamond Wire Saws 4” – 80”) Canflex Lift Bags, Cavidyne Units along with manufacturing of Hydraulic Units and Powered Hydraulic Hose Reels.

We have had a positive and successful relationship with the offshore industry due to a little hard work but most of all the Grace of God. We plan on continuing that into the Twenty-First Century.
